Our club began in 1995 with a handful of individuals that shared an interest in competing in agility, so they formed a club to get together to practice. Over the past number of years the club has taken a change in direction. We are now a recreational group and serve as a safe place for individuals to bring their dogs to socialize while enjoying each others company. We also bring the opportunity for people to meet others with like interests, to share information and build friendships.

BARC became an association in 2007 and at that time we developed our regulations and guidelines to provide direction to our group. Our aim is to promote responsible dog ownership and become a welcomed part of our communities. We expect members to be committed to the aim of the club and events which we take part in. Without committed members our club would not continue to grow and move forward. Our handlers and dogs take part in numerous events such as parades, a yearly exhibition show, rescue organization fundraisers, community and municipal events, special care facility visits and much more. All these activities help us to promote responsible dog ownership and become involved in our communities. Our members also get together to have fun with our dogs doing outdoor activities such as hikes, group walks, beach days and BBQs. We do a variety of dog activities within our club including agility, rally-o, obedience/freestyle, games and socializing opportunities.

We look forward to continuing in a safe and fun manner in the future and we encourage you to contact us and arrange to come out for a meet and greet to see if Bluenose Agility & Recreational Canine Association may be a place for you and your canine companion.
